WELCOME TO OUR BLOG!

In today’s day and age, saying that the world is a small place is unacceptable. We are not only capable of talking to a friend a million miles away, creating presentations and projects without having to see anyone’s face and doing university summer programs online, we are also capable of creating a blog with people from different countries in a way no one ever has before.
Using the expression “wide world” would be considered erroneous in the 21st century. Why? Because the world is not wide in any way, in fact, however clichéd it may sound, the world is at our fingertips. This has resulted so beneficial for humanity! Our work, for each and every person in the planet, has gotten easier. This includes babies, for whom education has become so interactive and digital, and grandparents who can check the state of their pension or insurance through a website.

Something that has also changed, thanks to technology, is perspective. People are more open to new ideologies and suggestions. We have understood that at the end of the day it is not our color, race, religion or accent that’s important, what’s important is that we all breathe, walk, talk, eat, sleep and eventually want to be happy.
If the world is such a small place, shouldn’t we not only listen to what  people in our house, our class, our country or our newspaper have to say? We should get rid of the limitations and start listening to opinions from other countries, and not only opinions from avid bloggers or famous politicians, we should start listening to opinions from actual people just like us. We should be able to interact with them and eventually befriend them without minding that their arms haven’t been touched or their height hasn’t been measured by us. This is exactly what this blog aims to do.
In this blog, all of us will be able to write on issues of global importance in our own point of view (of course we always have to remember to not to be offensive, nobody likes to be insulted in any way). And as we celebrate the World Peace Day, we encourage everyone to let go of their inhibitions, forget the worries and write because the actual message these 400 words imply is: if you care, the world cares. So write up!
